Nestled in the former East Lake Meadows, now known as the Oakhurst community, you can find a cool in town spot off of Oakview Road. It’s been around for awhile, I’m just getting on to it. A lot of heads are always out there because of the convenience to the city. It’s a very basic park, but it cool around 7 pm when the sun goes down to get some skating or riding in, which ever you prefer. Just find McKoy Park or ask around and, check it out! Reese

I can’t express how important it is to stay in touch and kick it with the people that have made our brand what it is. When I first came into the game three years ago, I vowed that I wouldn’t be one of those office CEO’s that nobody knew or just seemed to be a figment of the imagination. I think one of things that has attributed to the success of Chilly-O is our ability to remain organic and true to the culture behind our brand. The BMX and Hip-Hop refinements are two key elements that inspired us to become an independent clothing company, so to deviate from that for the sake of ’slutting’ the line or relinquishing creative control would never be an option.

People support us because they know we are real and accessible. Our pieces or not factory cranked by the millions or backed by corporate dollars that only want to capitalize off of something that you and I live every day, but know nothing about. Every shirt you see is a direct interpretation of the Chilly-O experience and how we live and view the world. We are philosophers and natural artists interpreting our daily living through the medium of fashion. Doesn’t get any better than that!

We run hard on the ATL scene, so it’s only expected for folks to ask, “Where the $%@*# is Chilly-O?” when they’ve noticed I’m been away. To answer everyone’s question, I’ve begun my summer travels up top circulating NY, Pittsburgh and Jersey chilling with the people that have showed us love since day one. The cool kids, BMX pros and everyday hip-hop heads that peep for us and support our efforts don’t reside in the southeast alone. They are all over and as the saying goes, “You can’t forget where you came from.” So I’m back up top for a while kicking it and riding with the people that know Chilly-O the individual, and thus wholeheartedly support Chilly-O the brand. Staying personally connected is, in my opinion, the only way that any of us can achieve bonafide success in whatever it is we are setting out to do. I’m looking forward to circulating back to the west coast and Florida later this summer to get it in with our family in those places as well. So keep checking back…the Chilly-O Travels are just beginning! Thanks to the team for holding it down. -Omar “Chilly-O” Mitchell
