Satchel makes a good point…

The title behind that one pretty much summed up the entire streetwear section of Magic. As far as conventions go, Magic is pretty much as nerdy as E3, minus the awesome video games.Regardless of how people try to flip and bounce it, at the end of the day it’s just brands trying to out hype each other to get in the doors of retailers.PCP and I rolled through with DBTHb vet Air Farce.

2 – “My line is streetwear inspired, but for the mass market.”Translation: I’m out here looking at what the popular streetwear lines are doing, then I am going back to my factories in Korea and create similar products to sell at price point retail. The irony is that my knock off will make 10x more then the original. So while we’re mixing Crown Royal and Coors Light to celebrate, you’ll be sitting on your LE skateboard trying to figure out how to pay your electricity bill.

That was probably the quote we heard the most. Everyone was trying to create the next super cool brand, but it really seemed like they were just knocking each other off. Go back a seasons and you’ll see that there’s way too much overlap. We’re still convinced that there were little elves in the back bootlegging gear as it was being shown.Original postQuestion submitted by: Paul
